The painter Maria Vich, native of Felanitx and friend of the Barceló’s family, showing extraordinary generosity, in 1996 made a donation of 218 of her works to the Barceló Foundation; a first donation that has been expanded over the years and currently runs at 349 works.

The collection includes examples of the various techniques used to depict diverse subjects such as landscapes, still life, flowers and figures, among which there is a number of gypsies, always her personal seal fuses reality with imagination, exciting the senses to “feel” the paintings through sight and imagination.

The foundation is grateful to Maria Vich whose donations enriches the artistic heritage of the Barceló Foundation, guaranteeing her that all of this legacy will be well-preserved and promoted among future generations.

The donated works are a part of a permanent exhibition that is constantly being renewed and dislplayed at Felanitx’s art & culture centre, ensuring the awareness of the figure of Maria Vich, a benchmark of pictorial art in Mallorca.
