The Barceló Foundation, together with the Agricultural Association of Farmers of the Balearic Islands (ASAJA), organizes several courses per year at its Felanitx farm to support young Mallorcan farmers and thus encourage work in the field.
On Monday 9, the course “Promotion of Ecological Agriculture and Livestock” began, which consists of providing the theoretical and practical bases for farmers to undertake a more natural and environmentally friendly type of production, taking into account that it does not allow the use of a large part of phytosanitary products.
During this week, a total of 17 students will receive 25 teaching hours and will do the internship at Son Barceló to obtain the knowledge about this type of agricultural production.
This is the first of the training courses that the Barceló Foundation will carry out this 2018 in the agro-environmental sector. In the coming months, the course “Technical Bases for Young Farmers” and “Phytosanitary Product User Qualified Level” will begin, in addition to the course “Training in dry wall technique” that the Foundation carries out annually.
