The licensed pharmacist Juana Verger, from Cala d’Or (Mallorca) delivers, totally free, the annual medication necessary for the treatment to stop the hyperthyroidism of Sister Domenica.
Belonging to the Congregation of the Comboni Missionaries, Doménica is the nurse responsible for the health center of Mandura, in Ethiopia, one of the clinics with which the Barceló Foundation collaborates through the FARMASOL project.
Following the recent construction of a pre-and-post delivery room, and the delivery of medicines to pregnant women by the Foundation, Doménica asked our colleague Amelia Fornés (responsible for the project) if she could get the medication to treat her hyperthyroidism , since there is no such specific medication in her country.
Aware of this request, the Mallorcan entity made a general appeal to the population and the pharmacy of Cala d’Or, owned by Juana Verger, responded kindly to this request. In this way, she has recently donated the necessary medication for hyperthyroidism for one year of treatment that Doménica needs.
From the Barceló Foundation, and also on behalf of Sister Domenica, we would like to express our gratitude to this pharmacy and to its Manager, Juana Verger, for such a supportive gesture.
