The Foundation inaugurates, together with the local organization KCBRP, a vocational training school for 40 disadvantaged young people living in poverty in the district of Karagwe.
The objective of the project is to train women and provide them with the necessary tools to make them part of their own development and thus, remove them from the circle of poverty and marginalization in which they currently live. Thus, with the contribution of almost 30 thousand euros from the Foundation, the school has been organized hiring the teaching staff that will teach the classes, crafts and footwear workshops. It is sought that all students acquire entrepreneurial skills and can open their own business in the future.
Coinciding with the Women’s Day, in addition to the school, the Foundation also inaugurated a boarding school to house the 40 young women, since their families live many kilometers away.
One of the main objectives of the Barceló Foundation is to contribute to the improvement of living conditions and the education of the populations of the most in need countries, especially in the case of disabled women.
