The Barceló Foundation informs the Felanitx painter of the activities and exhibitions carried out in 2018 to make known to the public her donated work, amounting to 373 paintings, as well as those planned for 2019.
When Maria Vich made her first donation to the Barceló Foundation in 1996, the latest commited itself to take care of her work and at the same time, to make it known among the Mallorcan society. For this reason, each year, the Foundation organizes several exhibitions of its pictorial collection, both at its headquarters in Palma and at the Center d’Art i Cultura de Felanitx, such as “Memories of childhood” and “Gifts”, during 2018.
Looking towards 2019, the Foundation plans to renew the permanent exhibition of Maria Vich, placed in one of the rooms of the Center d’Art i Cultura of Felanitx, with the new proposal entitled “Faces with Soul”.
The meeting, held yesterday in the meeting room of the Foundation, was attended by the General Director of Culture of the Balearic Government, Joana Català; the councilor of Culture of the Ajuntament de Felanitx, Xisco Duarte; Ñaco Fabré on behalf of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Sebastià de Palma; the painter Maria Vich and her nephew Sebastià Vives. On behalf of the Barceló Foundation, Vice President Antonia Barceló, General Director Rafael Torra and Art Director Pilar Pujol attended.
Finally, the Foundation announced that Maria Vich has recently donated 11 new paintings to the Foundation, which will increase the donation of the artist to 373 works.
