AMÉS

The Barceló Foundation has awarded, for the third year in a row, a granted of 8.341’64 euros to the Association AMÉS to finance the project “Psychological care for minors under guardianship 2018/2019”. The purpose of the project is to complement and extend the scope of functions of the figure of the psychologist, in order to give an effective and efficient answer to the 24 minors living in the three centers managed by AMÉS

ASPAYM

The Barceló Foundation has granted a subsidy of 11.647’06 euros to the ASPAYM Association to finance the project “Psychosocial support and guidance for young people with physical disabilities 2018/2019”. The purpose of the project is to accompany and offer support to a group of 16 young people with physical disabilities in the process of acceptance and psychological adaptation to their situation, as well as to encourage their participation in the community, favoring their autonomy and quality of life and expanding their networks of social support.

Association for the fight against kidney diseases (ALCER)

The Barceló Foundation has awarded, for the second year in a row, a grant of 5.647’06 euros to the Association for the fight against kidney diseases to finance the project “Psychological care for kidney patients and their families 2019”. The purpose of the project is to inform, train and accompany 122 patients and relatives of kidney patients to improve their skills in self-management of the disease and promote an active and healthy lifestyle

AMITICIA Association

The Barceló Foundation has granted, for the second consecutive year, a subsidy of 10.000 euros to the AMITICIA Association to finance the project “Multisensory stimulation program for users with intellectual disabilities, children and adolescents at risk of social exclusion 2019”. The purpose of the project is to complete and extend the scope of the cognitive stimulation program through therapeutic sessions for 15 users from 6 to 21 years old, and thus strengthen their learning stage.

Aula Cultural Association

The Barceló Foundation has granted, for the second year in a row, a subsidy of 8.470’59 euros to the Aula Cultural Association to finance the project “Compartmentalization to complete the adaptation reform of the training center for people with reduced mobility”. The purpose of the project is to reform the head office’s toilets in order to continue with the labor insertion programs for vulnerable groups.

Association of People with Diabetes of the Balearic Islands (ADIBA)

The purpose of the project is information, training and accompaniment of relatives of 55 diabetes patients, to improve their skills in self-management of the disease and promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

Balearic Multiple Sclerosis Association (ABDEM)

The Barceló Foundation has awarded, for the third consecutive year, a grant of 11.294’12 euros to the Balearic Multiple Sclerosis Association to finance the project “Get active 2018/2019”. The purpose of the project is information, training and support of 121 young people suffering from multiple sclerosis to improve their skills in self-management of the disease and promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

Balearic Down Syndrome Association (ASNIMO)

The Barceló Foundation has granted, for the third consecutive year, a subsidy of 10.588’24 euros to the Balearic Down Syndrome Association to finance the project “Leisure and free time program for people with disabilities 2018/2019”. The purpose of the project is the continuation of the leisure and free time program for 40 people with disability and to create a meeting point where young people with Down Syndrome can interact with their peers, in a normalized leisure environment through three modules such as: the weekend program, the therapeutic leisure program and the program of extracurricular activities.

Balearic Cerebral Palsy Association (ASPACE)

The Barceló Foundation has awarded, for the third year in a row, a grant of 11.647 euros to ASPACE to finance the project “ASPACE breathes 2018/2019”. The purpose of the project is to organize and schedule leisure and free time activities for young people with cerebral palsy during the non-school periods in which they can’t be cared for by relatives who take care of them, for reasons of rest, illness or for the conciliation of the family, personal and work life.

The objective of the project is to finance the operation of the dining room for passers-by in Inca in order to continue carrying out the 150 daily services.

The Barceló Foundation has granted, for the third year in a row, a subsidy of 20.000 euros to Dentists on Wheels to finance the project “Second Coloma Vidal 2019 Solidarity Dental Clinic”. The objective of the project is for dentists, hygienists and dental assistants to offer voluntary care to people in vulnerable situations.

Down i Més Foundation

The Barceló Foundation has awarded, for the second consecutive year, a grant of 5.000 euros to the Down i Més Association to finance the project “Sessions of speech therapy, physiotherapy and psychomotricity”, aimed at users with Down Syndrome.

The purpose of the project is to carry out therapeutic treatments for children with Down Syndrome from the age of 6, which is when its needed to work more with them so that they can be integrated into the current world, especially in the years of schooling.

The Barceló Foundation has awarded, for the second consecutive year, a grant of 5.000 euros to Educaclown to finance the project “Theatrical improvisation classes and clown for adolescents with mental health problems in Son Espases 2019”. The purpose of the project is the realization of therapies through theater sessions mainly for children with mental health problems. The sessions are held in the Department of Pediatric Psychiatry of Son Espases.

The object of the project is the realization of a program of extracurricular activities so that children without resources can have access to them. Infinity Sport works in schools to reach those families that, due to the lack of resources, cann’t attend these activities.

Medical Smile

The Barceló Foundation has awarded, for the second consecutive year, a subsidy to the Medical Smile, in this case of 10.235’29 euros, to finance the project “Program of performances of clowns in the Regional Hospital of Inca 2017/2018”.

The purpose of the project is to respond to the detected need for emotional attention and accompanying the patient through the visit of clowns one day a week, providing the necessary means through play, music, joy and magic, to contribute to the psychosocial support of patients with outpatient, severe, invalidated and / or chronic pathologies and their relatives, as well as to facilitate the work of sanitary personnel through therapeutic collaborations.

Mental Health 3


The Barceló Foundation has granted, to the 3 Salut Mental Association and for the second consecutive year, a subsidy of 11.411’76 euros to finance the realization of the “Balearics Openly” project.

The purpose of the project is to fight against the stigma and discrimination that people suffer for mental health reasons. Mental health continues to be a taboo and many people with disorders are subject to discrimination in all areas of their lives. Openly aims to achieve the necessary changes in attitudes and behaviors of the population in general and of certain groups that, by their ability to influence, can accelerate this process of change in the social perception of people who have a mental health disorder.

Thanks to the funding of the Barceló Foundation, methodological training will be provided for 3 Mental Health professionals and anti-stigma activists will be trained.

Nemo Foundation

The Barceló Foundation has awarded, for the second consecutive year, a grant of 5.000 euros to the Nemo Foundation to finance the project “Caring for the caregiver”. The object of the project is training for relatives of children with disabilities, a pioneering space where children and youth neuro-rehabilitation treatments are offered, working in an interdisciplinary way with the most current methodologies based on brain neuroplasticity in order to achieve maximum functionality and independence of those affected.

The Barceló Foundation has granted, for the second consecutive year, a subsidy of 24.264’71 euros to the Natzaret Foundation to finance the project “Labor insertion project “Una mossegada 2019”. The purpose of the project is a training and learning program in the use of tools so that young people in tutelage acquire competences and autonomy for insertion in the labor market.

The Barceló Foundation has awarded, for the second year in a row, a grant of 11.294’12 euros to NAUM (Charity Sisters of Saint Vincent of Paul Socio-educational Project) to finance the project “Program of accompaniment to the social and labor insertion of young people in situation of risk and / or social exclusion 2017/2018 “.

The objective of the project is the comprehensive care of 45 young people in situations of social exclusion, to respond to their personal, social, educational and work needs in order to achieve their social and occupational integration.

Penitentiary pastoral

The Barceló Foundation has awarded, for the second consecutive year, a subsidy to the Penitentiary Pastoral Care, in this case of 10.588’20 euros, to finance the project “Attention to the basic needs of prisoners 2017/2018”.

The purpose of the project is to help prisoners, who have no means or family members, with their most necessary expenses, in addition to a program of full participation of the group of children and mothers of the Mothers Unit of the Penitentiary Center of Mallorca, in an educational-recreational activity completely normalized in the Casal de Lloret de Vista Alegre.
