Donation of Malena Tous to the Barceló Foundation

2019.10.07 //

The Majorcan artist donates, totally selflessly, the work titled “Cacoxenita” that goes on to thicken the artistic heritage of our Foundation.

The painting has 1’22 x 94 cm and belongs to the collection “Mineralment”, made a few years ago by the artist in tribute to the world of minerals. The idea came in his visit a few years ago to the Museum of Natural Sciences in London.

Born in Palma of Majorca in 1957, Malena Tous has dedicated more than 30 years of her life to art world and has made more than 1.500 paintings of all styles: marines, still lifes, landscapes, portraits, figurative art, abstract art, expressionism, surrealism and abstraction.

She has made personal exhibitions in Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera and in different cities, both on the peninsula (Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga or Galicia) and outside Spain (Venice, Cyprus, Athens, Moscow and Berlin) and collective exhibitions in the Parliament of Madrid.

In Majorca, Malena Tous has exhibited in different places, such as Museu Ca’n Prunera, the Military Center of Palma, the Fons Artístiques Porreres Museum, Capella de la Misericordia and s’Agrícola of Manacor, where the best painters of Majorca, such as Cittadini, Pascual de Cabo, Coll Bardolet or Ramón Nadal, also exhibited her works.
