On our last visit to Rwanda we were able to see the completed work of the Kibondo school. It is a community school, organized by the parents of the students. This project has facilitated access to primary education for many children who do not have means of transportation to reach the schools closest to their village. Being paid and run by the community, that is, by the parents of the students themselves, the school is required to meet a high standard.
The parents of the school are very professional and full of initiative. They have many ideas of possible activities they could do to bring more income to the school, which is a good sign, because it shows that these parents care not only about their children getting a good education but also about keeping the infrastructure that we have helped them build in good condition.
