Idan is an 11 years old boy from the highlands of Tanzania. Until a year ago he was a healthy boy, like any other, but one fateful day while playing football at school, he was bitten by a snake and, as a result of this incident, both his legs were amputated. In these adverse circumstances, his father abandoned him, leaving him in the care of his mother.
Thanks to the search and detection of this type of physical and mental disability cases, carried out by the social workers of the Farmasol Tanzania project, it has been possible for Idan to live in a special education school in the capital. This circumstance allows him not only to receive an education, but also to be able to use the wheelchair that we have provided him with, and thus regain a certain independence and mobility, which was not possible living in the mountainous region.
