Barceló Foundation
The philosophy that guides the actions of the Barceló Foundation is to help those who need it most, working as efficiently as possible so that its activities benefit the greatest number of people.
The action programs of the Barceló Foundation are preferably aimed at the neediest countries in Africa and Latin America, in addition to working directly in Mallorca with less favored groups..
Our History
The Barceló Foundation is a non-profit institution created by the Barceló family on October 24, 1989, in a public document authorized by the Notary Don Salvador Balle Oliver. With an initial endowment of 3 million euros, the Barceló Foundation was registered in the Registry of the Protectorate of Foundations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Government of Spain, with the number BAL 1-1-3-16, on July 19, 1990.
The Foundation is based in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), in a historic building - the Reguer-Rullán Marquis House - listed as an asset of cultural interest.
Since its constitution, the aim of our Foundation has been to contribute to the improvement of society, focusing its action on the most vulnerable countries in the world, working through the promotion of projects in areas as fundamental for development as Health, Education, Microcredits, Agriculture, Environment or Art and Culture.
We have been active in 44 countries where we have carried out 1,799 projects that have benefited 3,409,557 people.
